For several months there have been reports that Apple wants to get involved in traditional headphones after the AirPods. Exactly these should now be seen in the first pictures.

Current rumors say that in addition to new iPhones and Macs with Apple Silicon, Apple will also introduce new headphones next fall. In contrast to the well-known in-ear models, AirPods and AirPods Pro, these should have a classic design. Currently, the more then traditional headphones are frequently referred to as "AirPods Studio".

Leaker Jon Prosser had already announced that he also had material for Apple's headphones, but that he would first create 3D models and rendered images in order to protect his sources. He used a similar approach for the AirTags a few days ago.

This delay meant that another leaker got ahead of him. "Choco_bit" published alleged pictures and the following video on Twitter - apparently the same material that Prosser had:

"AirPods Studio": Render images give a better impression

A few hours after the images shown above were published, Prosser also showed his own render images on YouTube, which he again made in cooperation with CConceptCreator :

These pictures give a better impression of what the possible AirPods Studio could look like. The design is - as described by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg a few months ago - symmetrical. So there is no predefined right or left auricle.

Instead, the headphones should automatically recognize how they are aligned. The images also match Gurman's description of the alleged prototypes. He said in April that these should have a retro look with oval ear cups.

According to Gurman, Apple was working on at least two models at the time. Including a premium version with materials that are supposed to be reminiscent of leather. There was also talk of a fitness model that should have a more breathable fabric.

Allegedly, the new headphones should appear this year. A possible date for this would be the upcoming presentation of the new iPhone 12. This presentation is expected in the coming weeks.
