Tweetbot is back . The unofficial Twiter client created by the developer Tapbots has launched its sixth version in the App Store in the Early Access phase , with a complete design change and integration with the second version of the Twitter API in order to offer more service options.
Thanks to this, and provided that Twitter keeps its promises, Tweetbot will be able to offer the same functions as the official client without limitations. A good example of this is that now Tweetbot is able to display polls, load more data from tweets and view their cards without problems.
Unofficial Twitter clients don't want to die
Using an unofficial Twitter client implies some advantages, such as not seeing the service's announcements and being able to choose options such as the chronological timeline that some of us miss so much. And among all the Twitter clients made by third-party developers, Tweetbot has earned the most popular position for its careful design and user experience .
Another novelty of Tweetbot 6 is in the price. We will utilize it for free, but if we want to have notifications, manage more than one account or have advanced filters we will have to subscribe. The price is 0.99 euros per month, or 6.49 euros per year , a fairly reasonable price to guarantee future versions and improvements.
In order to use it you will need a device with iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, so make sure you have a compatible device. At the moment there is no news about a future version for macOS, although I have few doubts: they will be working on it and optimizing it for the M1 chip while you read this.
