Netflix misses the announcement of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, a new CGI series based on the RE universe [updated]

Update: Following the leak, Netflix has officially released Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. We leave you with the updated article.

Netflix is preparing a new CGI series based on Resident Evil. It's called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and, from what we have seen in the trailer, it will feature Leon and Claire. The funny thing is that the announcement has escaped Netflix ahead of time through the official Netflix  account on Twitter.

In the now deleted tweet you could read the phrase “Me? Fearfully? No, nothing!"  the trailer was attached. Netflix has also been eliminating it from YouTube, so right now it is difficult to find a copy of the entire video and in good quality, but here we can see some fragments:

For now there are no details about the story of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness beyond that it will mix horror and science fiction. Overseeing and producing the series is Hiroyuki Kobayashi, while TMS Entertainment ( Akira , Detective Conan) will also be in production. On the other hand, the animation is in charge of Quebico under the orders of Kei Miyamoto , producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta.

Still no definitive date, what Netflix has revealed is that Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will arrive sometime in 2021.

On the other hand, last August Netflix confirmed a series based on Resident Evil whose first details had been leaked in early 2020 . In this case it will be live action, no animation or CGI, and will star Albert Wesker's daughters .
